Your Information

The only thing Travelog needs to know about you in order to work is your username and password. You can if you choose, store much more info about yourself. For example, people reading your travelog might get a better insight into your experiences if they knew a bit about you. Also, you might find it useful for others to know how to contact you, where you are etc.

Travelog can store this information:

• Your full name (e.g. Jennifer Hale)
• Your preferred name (e.g. Jenny)
• Your email address
• Your current address
• An emergency contact for you
• Your next of kin (it might be important!)
• About you (anything - it's up to you)
• Your plans
• A link
• A photo

By default, when you register, Travelog opts to display everything you tell it about you. At any time, you can change which ones are displayed, from the Privacy Preferences page.

You can also change any of the information at any time. There is a section of the page called 's Info which contains the links to change any part of the information.

Changing the Information

Each page is roughly similar, so once you've seen one, you'll understand how to use them all. On all the pages you will find the name of the information you can change first, and the input field immediately after it. Change those things you want to change and then use the button at the end of it to confirm the changes. Travelog will change what it stores about you and return you to the main page.

Displaying Information

You can find information on how to display and hide information here, but be aware of the risks of displaying information about yourself.

It is possible that people could use the information about you in negative ways, so be cautious what information you choose to reveal. Personally, I would not choose to reveal my address to random web surfers, so I would either hide my address orlock my travelog. You should look at what info you choose to store and decide who you want to see it.
