Goodbye little Chocolate town

Date: 11 May 2005, 03:27 Place: Bariloche, Argentina

Mood: Content

HI to all so many stories after my last entry, i dont know where to start. Bariloche has been so good to us. we have made a little family with the backpackers who are here. it is great as we all arived at the same time and are all moving on today or tomorrow. We have made friend with a crazy pom... Beya... ( Amiga with holes in her face) Her favorite thing is to say ´brrrrrr its cooold´ and talk silly and dirty most of the time. we have had many laughs over the silliest things and the edge has finally been taken off traveling. An example would be our trip to the farmacy yesterday after a bit night out. I somehow ended up in the display part of the shop and she in fits of laughter spilling orange juice down her front while the nice spanish lady spoke rather stern insults at me... even though i dont speak much spanish I could tell that she wasnt loving me. I wasnt doing it on purpose!!!

All I can say is that woman must find it easy hear not to be moody or pmsed as there are sooo many cheep designer cloths shops, chocolate factories and shops, icecream stores... today i had lemon meringue flavour...!!!!! YUM YUM YUM...the best so far... It even had the meringue flavour on top and toasted bits. I am totally convinced that this is the best ice cream i have ever tasted. Today, Beya and I went to collect our laundry and returned with three bags of chocolate, chocolate fondoo mix, two tubs of ice cream, a new pair of ´pant´ for me as mine are now torn, some sunglasses and did i mention chocolate.

The last few days we have been spending a lot of time hiding away from the weather and waiting as wayne was wanting to do a hike... the rain has not let up though and so we ahve been watching movies and drinking really cheap but incredibly good wine, making amazing food and paying games etc. The Argentinians drink Mate. This is a drink that tastes a lot like tea but stronger and it has energy making substances(...?...). today i carved on the outside of my very own mate pot. this is a small callabash. It was fun. We went iceskating today at the rink on the lake... i keep mentioning this place as i cant quite believe it exists... oh and it snowed a bit this morn but not enough to last the sunrise.

Yes and tomorrow we leave... I am sad as it has bee fun but it is time and we are on our way north now.. Thank goodness... it wont be much warmer where we are headed as it is the highest mountain in the americas aparently. It is east of Mendoza: puerte del ince. please look on the net..it is beautiful. love m
