Buenos Aires- Bariloche

Date: 4 May 2005, 15:12 Place: Bariloche, Argentina

Mood: Happy

M: Hola Amigos Y Amigos

Filling in tha blanks... I have just read throught the travel log and have realised a fewe thigns. Firstly my amazingly bad spelling( pure lazyness) and my generally bad grammer and sentence structure. I have two excuses... no spell check and not enough time to bother. I have desided to pay more attention to these things though as i would hate my folks to think they waisted their money on my studies. te he he.or ja ja ja( spanish).

This last week has been insane. we made freinds with these two guys from isreal. Amigo Uno and Amigo Dos. As well as one of the nicest people so far, Mada. Mada is half isreali and half spanish, she works at portal der sur, the hostel in Buenos Aires and is great fun. The celebration of finishing our Spanish course started a night early when we got our rubbery arms twisted into going out to an amazing club. It was great as it wasnt just a club for the music. there were projections and a show that did not stop... it was still going when we left at 4am! There were hip hop and street dancers, girls and guys dressed in drag, fancy crnival type dancers and a kind of gay caberay(sp?) ... I was all great fun. The following night Mada took us to a dinner in a school in her neighbourhood. The kids who are the waiters are raising money to go ona school trip over seas. There mothers cook and there fathers help with the door and wine. I had some highly recomended vino roso... it was great. the food and entertainment is was strange but fun. It was a mixture of greek, isreali and armanian tapas. As a table you choose any number of dishes and then share them... yum, yum, yum. After dinner Mada took us to a bar that seemed to be part of the underground scene and we hade the best coctails ive ever had. Lemon, Pinapple and vodca slush. Then off to the now famous( madfe so by the Amigos)´sectret jazz Club¨. They made me learn a secret knock and said they heard about it from an undergraound source. turns out the club was at somebodies house and was secret and i got to use the knock( because you have to knock on the door, not because it is THE knock) and then we watched some jazz bands and promptly got locked inside. This was becasue the police had come to check out the secret cub to make sure it wasnt sectret any more. mmmmm. it wasnt scary but i was falling asleep by the time they left. I was a weird evening to say the least. The rest of the weekend was somewhat spent recovering and going places we hadnt manage to fit in yet. i got to see the albino tiger...look its a tiger!... and an ant eater, very large! We went to movies and an arcade. We also went to La Boka. This is a suburb of BA that was the original train station area. An artist at some point build a school of the arts and today it is painted in bright beautiful colours and there are restuarants and a small tourist trap market. we had delicious food once again and took photos of people dancing tango in the streets. So we left B Aires with slightly sad hearts but feeling the need to get out of the city and caught the bus for bariloche. it wasnt as smooth as the first one. ok ok this is a serious understatement... it was extreamly bumpy. the poor driver, having to navigate up windy mountain roads on the smallest one lane carriage way ive ever seen. Sunrise as we entered the town was incredible, spicky mountains and lakes... beautiful. The weather yesterday was freezing but today it has cleared and we can see the mountain with snow on them... this must be fairy tale land. Going out for ice cream now. Bariloche is famous in argentina for chocolate and icecream.
