Back in London again.
I have absolutely loved being in Europe. Seeing the things that I've seen and doing the things that I've done. But it sure is a great feeling to arrive back in London.
I'm not sure whether it's because it's the one place that I've been a few times. Or whether it's because pretty well everyone speaks english. I really like coming back to London as it feels like a home base.
Its about time for me to start heading off to New York and to the rest of the USA. Looking forward to that. I have had a brilliant week in London. Thanks to Coreen, from Hong Kong, who I met at the hostel. I was going to just stay in London for two nights so that I could have one last day enjoying London. But that turned into 6 nights in London and a lot of fun, mucking around and going to parts of London that I possibly wouldn't have gone to otherwise.
For a start, there was the London Premiere of Lord of the Rings. So off to do a little Star gazing. http://www.lordoftherings.net And as if that wasnt enough bright lights, it was off to the good old 'Walkabout' pub for a VERY well earned VB. Ahhh a little bit of home. Then over the next few days .... Shopping. Harrods Style. http://www.harrods.com And that is one bloody huge shop. You could easily get yourself lost in there. But so many things to look at. There was a night of fish and chips and just walking absolutely randomly through the main shopping streets of London. Of course the souvenir shopping. A lovely but inexpensive dinner at the Duke of Wellington Pub. A Very English Name and totally run by Australians, all bar one.
So much for flying out on Wednesday. A little persuasion, and a really good time to back up the idea, sees me at the airport on Sunday afternoon, catching a Sunday night flight. No Problem. Isn't it funny how when you travel, you can be absolute Best friends with people for just 1 or 2 days .... then never see them again. I think that's kinda strange.
But I really do like London, and I know I'm going to miss it heaps. But for Now .... of to New York, New York.
Da, Da, Daaaa Di Da ... Da, Da, Daaaa Di Da....... etc. etc. etc. Start spreading the news...... (fades in background)
