Today is Wednesday. I have been in hamburg since Thursday night. In that time I have had the most wonderful hosts I could ask for. Thankyou to Gary Walker and family for mentioning about Hanna, the exchange student that they had staying with them. As I was close to Hamburg, I called Hanna to see if she would mind catching up at some stage if I was to go to visit, as its always good to have someone to show you around. Not only did Hanna make her way to the city centre on Thursday evening to show me around, but her parents were very happy for me to come and stay for a while. I have felt MOST at home and I am very greatful to the Hospitality. Hannas father, Kalla, also had a book on Hamberg so that I was able to go walking through the city and take in most of the wonderful sights here. It really is a lovely city. There are heaps of people and traffic, but it is in no way crowded. This makes the whole place feel very comfortable. It is also a lovely city with lots of greenery and lakes as well as the harbour area. There is a small area for any sized boat. From international shipping liners to small runabouts. http://www.hamburg.de/fhh/international/englisch/index.htm Also on the harbour area is the biggest model railway I have ever seen. They even had model cars driving around the model city. All of the lights were working on all of the cars. They would stop at traffic lights, wait and give way to other cars and the whole room would darken so that It would look like night had fallen.
