It's wonderful to be able to travel the world and meet new people. While I was in a hostel in Interlaken, Switzerland. I happened to get somewhat drunk with a couple of other people from the Funny Farm Hostel. One of which was Bill. It's amazing how conversations can end up in having great friends from around the world. Here's someone who I had never met in my life, and after 2 days I was invited to go and stay at his parents place in Jersey (only 1 hour from New York).
As soon as I had arrived, I felt completely at home. It possibly had something to do with the fact that I was in a HOME ...

The good thing with hostels is that you meet new people every day and you can often find people to travel around with, even in that city. It was great having someone else to cruise around NY with. The first stop for the day was off to one of the two MOST famous NY landmarks, The Empire State Building. I was excited to see the entrance to the building, just as I had seen on many movies. I was also quite surprised at the most frequently asked question by people who visit the building ..... (The answer later) .....
First through yet another security check. After all of the plane flights I was g...

What a Lovely City, and who says its dangerous??
3 of us spent an hour or two looking around the upper New York area. First off of the train at the central station ..... station, and once on the street we had to gain our bearings. Didn't take much, look to the right and there was Radio City Music Hall. It was lovely to see even one of the famous landmarks that you see on all of these movies.
Then around the corner and a short walk to the Rockerfeller (??? spelling) Centre and the all famous christmas tree. It wasn't as big as what I expected. None the less it looked wonderful and I had a r...

Amazing.... Just when you think that the whole travel bug has totally gone from the system, you go somewhere new and get really excited about being there. That's exactly what NEW YORK has done for me.
The plane landed at JFK airport at 10:30 at night and then I had to get myself into Manhattan. This wasnt too bad as I had been told exactly which lines on the Subway to take. I arrived at the hostel by 12:30 at night and it was the only time that I have slept with my money belt inside the sleeping bag. I had no idea what the people were like. Morning was completely different as I found that...

Back in London again.
I have absolutely loved being in Europe. Seeing the things that I've seen and doing the things that I've done. But it sure is a great feeling to arrive back in London.
I'm not sure whether it's because it's the one place that I've been a few times. Or whether it's because pretty well everyone speaks english. I really like coming back to London as it feels like a home base.
Its about time for me to start heading off to New York and to the rest of the USA. Looking forward to that. I have had a brilliant week in London. Thanks to Coreen, from Hong Kong, who...
