Arrived in Ecuador

Date: 11 Feb 2008, 21:18 Place: Cuenca, Ecuador

Mood: Overjoyed

Well i have Arrived in Ecuador and my first stop was Guayaquil, Now what can i say about this city, its very hot, very dirty and not a nice city at all so i was glad that i was only there one night, it must have been about 100 degrees + and very humid, Every couple of shops was a "cafe" but going by the look and the Hygiene f the place you would never eat there, Also every street corner had about 2 / 3 food vendors of the same standard, I would deffinatley sat that this is a place not to come. From Gyayaquil we got the bus to Cuenca, The bus journey was amazing, Winding through the mountains and through the jungle on very dodgy roads, it was sommert like a 8 hour journey but it went very fast, One i got to Cuenca the next few days were just settleing in and getting to see the sights around, cuenca is a very beautiful city, with some amazing buildings (alot of them are now being restored) most have really beautiful central courtyards that have mostly been turned in to restraunts or cafes, there is also a large river running through the center, and if you visit in the day you will find people washing there clothes, There are also so,e very large markets selling the every single fruit that you could ever think of plus about 150 more that you didnt know exsisted, most of my time in Cuenca i have been drinking and eating, While in cuenca we met a couple called Jordan and Oscar and had a reall good time with them drinking and eating and just having a laugh all round. On the 13th of feb we leave to go see the active volcano Tungurahua in BaƱos
