My life seems to change so quickly so much is always happening! Where do I start?? Well after 1 1/2 years Brian's divorce came through on April 2nd which was fantastic news. We received the divorce decree on the 5th April. That day we booked out flight to Las Vegas via Cincinatti so we stopped off and went out for dinner with his best friend, arriving in Las Vegas, Nevada on the evening of th 6th April. The following day we spend making arrangements for the wedding and were married on Sunday 8th April at 3pm in the MGM Grand, LV. We had a bit of a nightmare the morning of the wedding when we found out all the tux shops were closed for the day! The hotel offered to postpone the wedding till the next day but I was determined to marry him even if he had to wear t-shirt and shorts so after a few tears ruining my spray suntan. Brian said he would sort something out so off I went to the beauty shop. I arrived back at the chapel early and Brian had not arrived which made me a bit nervous but when the Chaplain came to see me to brief me on the ceremony he had arrived. Thank god! The ceremony lasted all of 11 mins. It went by so quickly that I can hardly remember any of it (lucky we brought the dvd) But I am now Mrs Sarah Evans. I am so happy. We spent 5 days in Las Vegas which was great fun although we dont think we will go back again. We visited all the major hotels and Brian only lost $100 in the casino's so not too bad really. We set off back to Germany and the same evening we had a tearful departing at Munich airport as I was heading off to Dubai to start my old job again. We decided I should come back to the Mid East again as Brian is deploying to Iraq this summer for 15 months and I wanted to be near him. This was really the only option I had even thou I would be leaving 3 months prior there was a chance I could also work in the same base as him. So off I went to Dubai. It was great to meet up with some old friends and go to the beach, collect all my equipment then head off to my new apartment in Bahrain. I had a few days in Bahrain doing nothing really before I set off to Afghanistan where I was to be the travelling agent. I spent about 6 weeks there travelling to the small bases but the job worked to be really hard work certainly no job for a female or not the new Sarah anyway. maybe I have softened up in my old age?? So the company transferred me to Kuwait. I now share an apartment with 2 other people and a dog! I have a 140km round trip to work along the sixth ring road which is the 2nd most dangerous road in the world! Between watching other drivers people crossing the road, tyres blown up along the road, holes in the road and speed cameras it really is not very nice! I have only been here a week and already have a speeding ticket! Everytime I get on the road I fear for my life I think percentage wise I am safer in Afghanistan than I am here. In order to get a driving license you just pay the license fee and then your off on the road. Very clever. I love Kuwait city the restaurants, malls and having all my clothes made. The weather has been about 120 at the moment it is actually the warmest place in the middle east at the moment but today we are having a sand storm which is horrible with sand in your eyes and mouth real great fun. I am however off on Friday to meet my husband in Bahrain then we are off to Koh Lanta, Thailand for a few weeks to have our honeymoon and fingers crossed make a baby!
