Hey folks, just a quick message and a few photos today. I thought I'd let you know about some possible problems out here tonight. Since the military ousted Thaksin, they've been doing everything they can to suppress and oppress any freedom of speech. A couple of pro Thaksin websites were set up, quickly banned, Thaksin phoned into a couple of radio stations and these were immediately raided and closed down. These attempts by the current government to permanantly discredit the former PM and his political party is culminating with an attempt to disband his political party, Thai rak Thai, through...

It's about 14 months since I wrote one of these so it'll be difficult to summarise my life in a few paragraphs. One thing I can guarantee you is that it'll probably be clear that my love affair with Thailand has wained somewhat over this time i.e I'll be moaning.
Where do I start???? Having worked in the Thai school system now for just over a year I'm truly flabbergasted by the lack of common sense, creativity, enthusiasm, and general ability to study that seems to represent the vast majority of both Thai students and the administrators of these schools. Of course there are shining lights a...

No I'm not dead, just lazy. Two months have passed again and life is still good in Thailand. I have been living a fairly normal life out here as the financial implications of earning a Thai salary have finally kicked in. I'm living in a studio flat (that's the fancy term for a big room) in Nateetong Palace. It sounds grand, it ain't but it's kitted out quite nicely and it's cheap.
I do have the odd few bits of news for you. The other day I was attacked by a light saber weilding policeman. I was on the back of a motorbike taxi doing about 30 when we came to a police road block. The copper wi...

I must start with an apology to Steven Bookbinder and his lovely (now) wife, Rachael. Whilst I have sent him a personal mail I feel it is necessary for a public apology for my lack of attendence at his wedding last weekend. I really wanted to come home but financial constraints meant it was impossible. If it's any consolation Bookie I went out and had a bender in your honour during which I managed to consume a comedy amount of alchohol, snog 5 of the ugliest girls in Bangkok and fall asleep in a red light district.
So has it really been a month since I last wrote an entry? Time seems to di...

Mood: Happy but Need a Day Off!
I was hoping for a couple of buxom blondes and some young brunettes in my first tour party. Unfortunately I got Richard and Judy and a couple of kids. My first tour leading job has gone pretty well but the dad (who I will not name) was just like the doormat half of daytime TV's golden couple, a very nice chap but a little sad. The mother on the other hand was certainly wearing the trousers in this relationship and has been threratening to boil over at any point. I today found out that she was rather appropriately born in the year of the dragon. The kids were nice but if I hear one more "what's...
