Greetings from beautiful Fiji. I dont have much time so I'll just quickly fill you in on what I've been up to since I last wrote from Christchurch. So landed in the sweltering heat in Nadi and did nothin but sleep and read for my first few days. Then started the Feejee experience tour which I've been on for the last four days. I have spent time on lovely beaches, have attended a Kava ceremony (it looks and tastes like mucky water, but hey, 'when in rome' and all that jazz), did a 3 hour trek in the roasting heat, went river tubing, visited a local school, went on a sunset cruise, visited a typical Fijian village, went to mud pools and hot pools, sampled the Fijian nightlife, participated in a coconut shaving contest and much more. The school visit was really cool. I played cards with the kids and chatted to them. They are adorable and have so much confidence. I have promised to develop my photos of them and send them to the school. But the highlight for me has been the scuba dive I did the other day. I knew Fiji was one of the top 5 places to dive in the world, but I wasnt expecting it to be better than the Barrier Reef, and it totally was. It was amazing!!! The water was so warm and colorful, and there was so much more to see on the reef. I was diving through soft coral and the fish were fascinating. Didnt see many big fish (although one other girl saw a shark but I missed it, ah well) but the whole swimming through crevasses of reef was what I loved about it. I'm so glad I got the chance to dive again. So we finished the tour yesterday and myself and another girl have booked ourselves a few nights on Robinson Crusoe island so we are heading there tomorrow for some serious sun worshipping. Might do some kayaking and fishing too, but ultimately I'm looking forward to lying on a hammockand doing nothing. Jealous much? Sorry.
Will be home in a few weeks though so never fear. Love to all. Please send me emails. Hope all the Christmas plans are going well. xxx
