Hello hello hello, greetings again from the land down under. Still no news I'm afraid, but I'm just uploading some photos so I thought I'd update the log as well. Well folks, I'm still workign away in Sydney, living the life. My backpacking days seem a million miles away and yet I find myself longing for the road again. Vicious circle, that one. My 3 month contract is almost up but I am sticking around in Sydney until I save enough for the rest of my travels. With a bit of luck I'll get work with another agency for another 6-8 weeks and then I'll be off. I have been doing a lot of web surfing at work (shhh, dont tell anyone) and have been looking up places to stay and things to do in New Zealand, Fiji and the States. Its really got me excited to do more travelling. A mate of mine just got back from a week in Fiji and he is black, so I am dyin to get there to get a tan again. Its still winter here in Sydney but apparantly the weather is going to get warmer soon. I may even get to surf at Bondi before I leave!!! Its snowing in Victoria (Melbourne) and scorching in Cairns (Queensland), thats how massive this country is, a different climate for each state. Anyway, enough about the weather... how have you been? Hey, did I mention that I found out that one of the girls I work with was the girl that sang that annoying 'Harvey Norman' jingle??? Small world eh? That gave me a laugh. I have met a living legend there. Havent really been up to much. Lots of cinema and pub visits. Went to the museum the other day (gotta get some culture in somewhere), have given up chocolate and alcohol for August. Probably the first backpacker in history to give up drink for a period of time whilst travelling, its just to save a bit of moola and to be a bit healthier for a while. I'll drink again at my birthday (Aug 31st, all cards can be sent to 69/3 Olivia lane, Surry Hills NSW 2010...hint hint...nothing better than getting post from the other side of the world). Its one of my flatmates birthdays the week before so we may organise some sort of party, I dunno. So Sydney is great, but like I said I'm really looking forward to moving on and seeing more of the world. I'm still hoping to get to Vegas for a couple of nights, if anyone has any gambling hints, please let me know..... Please keep me informed on all the gossip/news/interesting facts about nothing and everything. Congrats to all the Smurfit heads who have gotten through their further studies - hats off to you my friends. Happy Birthday to Yveanne and Lauren.
