Leaving Melbourne

Date: 2 Jul 2007, 01:35 Place: Melbourne, Australia

Mood: Happy but a bit cold

Big of a hangover today as I’ve been on the piss the last couple of nights, so you’ll have to excuse me if this entry comes out a bit weird, but have you ever tried typing whilst you’re shaking like a shitting dog?

Talking of shitting dogs & falling in swimming pools, young Monsieur Phillipson (erm, Matt) has left Australia now & headed to the other side of the world somewhere. It’s classified information as to exactly where he’s gone, and this online diary prides itself on discretion and secretion (was trying to think of the word there to do with keeping secrets but couldn’t so there you go) so I won’t elaborate too much. Suffice to say he’s in a country near Scotland just east of Wales but before France. (And it’s not the Channels Islands).

The last entry I did was way back in the days prior to Matt visiting Melbourne, so it’s only fair that I post some photos from that very weekend along with this entry. I’m still puzzled as to how we ended up with a drill in a pub full of monuments, but these are the pitfalls of alcohol induced memory loss. Also as the last entry was many many many moons ago, I’ve got lots of exciting things to update you on. Actually that’s bollocks, but I’ll fill you in on what little detail I have…

Firstly, after six months in this wonderful multi-cultural city (much of it spent in British & Irish pubs) I am set to move on to another leg of this 12-month (ahem) world trip. I will be leaving on Wednesday with Tom & Jez (that’s an Irishman and a Englishman as opposed to the well know cat & mouse) and heading to Sydney. Dates, itineraries and details are thin on the ground at the minute, but we’ll (probably) hang around there a couple of weeks and then (possibly) get a train across to Perth and then (maybe) buy a car and drive up the West coast to Darwin. Melbourne’s fucking cold at the moment so I’m ready for some sunshine again, and we’ll be passing somewhere near Wolf Creek on the way so hopefully one of us will get murdered as well. That’ll make for a nice diary update won’t it? Especially if I get some photo’s and that…

Not much else to report really. Have finished work now, which is nice. Been to the cinema a couple of times, which was fun. Went down the river the other week, on a boat, which was handy. Been to some museums, which were cultural and informative. And accidentally went to a shit factory (actually a sewage museum), which was just simply inspirational.

Will be sure to do some exciting things over the coming weeks so that I’ve got something good for you all next time. If you’ve any suggestions then send them through, but try and make it something that hasn’t been already covered. So that eliminates pissing my pants, shitting my pants, throwing up and bestiality (not sure if that story ever made it on but I won’t repeat myself for Matt’s sake).
