Just as a codicil, we had 49mm of rain yesterday, two inches, an 18 year February record. That’s more than the entire average rainfall for the entire winter in Perth – or December, January and February put together. It was the first rain for fifty days and yesterday’s temperature didn’t go above 21C – the coldest day in February for 19 years and a daytime temperature lower than any overnight temperature for six weeks. Some remarkable statistics in themselves but, combined, they are unprecedented. Who said we haven’t screwed the planet up? Changing the subject slightly, and much to the chagrin of those who thought they had seen the last of us, we have completed the booking stage for our Autumn invasion of England. Indeed, we have dates, so expect us to be around for a couple of weeks from October 23rd. Seems an awful long way off but it will still come round and catch us by surprise. We won’t be dumping on anyone for accommodation with the possible exception of my Mum (sorry Mum,) but if anyone has a spare car….. More news when we have it, watch this space.
