First day in PP, went to Wat Penh where it all started. Had breakfast overlooking a lake and then to a local market selling everything. Glasses even cheaper here so Andy decided to buy another pair, for 30 dollars even with his weird eyes. Visited the Killing Fields which was quite horrible, holes in the ground where hundreds of bodies were exhumed and a collection of skulls in a memorial tower. Very recent history somehow makes it worse. Had an evening drinking over looking the grand National Museum waiting for bats to swarm out at dusk as guide book promised, but none appeared. Andy blamed Carol for making him drink beer while we waited.
