Only 2hrs to Villahermosa. Had decided to go here as we are no longer going to Belize. Had a couple of days in Villahermosa visiting a park/zoo with large Olmec basalt stone carvings and sculptures including some big heads, in a forest setting with wild coatis around. We walked around lakes and along the riverside, went up viewing tower on bridge for city views. Also visited an out of town safari park where we had a guided walk through a forest of mosquitoes, followed by a tractor train ride through an African savannah. In the town we had tried to go to a big archeological musuem but this was shut both days. As it´s 8.5hrs to Chetumal we took the overnight bus which arrived at 5.00am. This was to be the entry point for Belize, but instead we got another bus for a 4hr journey to Tulum, on the coast, 80miles south of Cancun.
