Another update to let you all know exactly what I´ve been up to and have planned for my last week in South America- can´t actually believe I have to go home, really excited but at the same time it´s too amazing here, someone will have to drag me kicking and screaming onto the plane on 19th!! I´ll start from when I was in the South. Am actually in beautiful and amazing Rio right now with just one friend (all the others buggered off home to England), having a blast but unfortunately last 2 days have been rainy. Still, we managed to get ourselves to a real B...

I thought it was about time that I let you know exactly what I`ve been up to on my very hectic travels, and I know some of you are pretty frustrated about not hearing from me, sorry. I`m really unbelievably excited about going to Brasil as I`ve heard so much about it from all the other people travelling we`ve met in the hostels. Gonna be weird travelling with just one person though after so much time in a big group. What we`re planning is to go to this big nature reserve place first after Iguazu, can`t remember the name, then on to Rio and possibly afterwards up to Salvador. This ...
Oh so cold but having a blast!

Mood: Content but as have already mentioned, VERY cold!
So a few more days have passed but we`ve done so much it`s going to be really difficult to summarise. Right now sitting in a very dull town on the East coast of Patagonia (a very cold and windy place), as we are stopping over on the way to the famous glacier way way way down South. I`m too excited but will probably be going a bit loopy by the time we eventually get there, after 2 nights with little sleep and hours on a bus!
My Route
Date: 21 Jul 2003, 21:09 Place: Bariloche, Argentina
Mood: Happy but cold
Just a quickie (as usual, sorry!) to let u know what`s going on in the world of travel in beautiful Argentina, I know dads you especially want to know our route, it`s a bit complicated so I will see if I can remember it all! We`re now in Esquel, a small town in Patagonia surrounded by snow-topped mountains. In an hour we are embarking on an evil bus journey involving no washing or sleep for a few days so we can make it all the way down to the famous glacier in the far South, near Calafate. There are no buses straight from here so we have to head all the way over to the other side...
Baribaribariloche!!!

So we got to Bariloche fine after a really nice 18 hour bus journey, watching loads of very recent films and drinking mate!! Also found that one of my students from Master who we have been out with was on the same bus going home for the hols. He`s great, 20 years old and very friendly, so we all chatted a lot. Anyway, more importantly we are all finally travelling and it feels fantastic. Complete freedom, and LOADS of fun!! Bariloche is possibly the most stunning place I`ve seen, at least for a long time anyway. It`s surrounded by beautiful picture perfect lakes and snow-topped mountains. Ever...
